Making Jazz is a very naked thing to do. That anyone can do anything at all but stand there in paralyzed amazement when the chord changes are going by, the musicians can function with minimal premeditation and great creativity within the materials of a song's structure, is more remarkable than even the most expert practitioners themselves seem to appreciate. It requires both tremendous knowledge, whether intuitive or acquired, and the physical reflexes of an athlete. Jazz is not only one of the most striking achievements in the history of music, it is one of the most striking achievements in the history of human thought.

We miss you Fizz...

"If I had to choose a single musician according to his artistic merit and the originality of his creation, but also for the greatness of his work, it would be Bud Powell. Nobody could measure up to him." BIll Evans.

Juan Gabriel in Bellas Artes, Mexico City

This is a song from the Concert at the Palacio de las Bellas Artes (Palace of Fine Arts) in Mexico City. Juan Gabriel is one of the most famous singers-songwriters in Latin America and Spain, he has sold over 100 million albums over more than 30 years. I wrote the orchestration for this song performed by the Orchestra and Chorus of Bellas Artes and Juan Gabriel's musical group of that time (1998)
